Supporting our regions' Schools Initiative

Kate van der Sluis, founder and co-owner of Humber HR People, is passionate about Education. She has been involved with regional inviatives including the HEY LEP Talent Forum since 2015 and is a MAT Trust Governor. In addition, as a team of business and HR professionals we have over 70 years combined experience with employees including early careers and apprentices: and we've done plenty of recruitment in that time, for hundreds of different professions, for organisations across lots of sectors. We have come together to offer this experience on a voluntary basis via our "Supporting Schools" initiative.
Supporting Schools is a program of voluntary hours made available to schools, colleages and Multi-Academy Trusts. We support events aimed to provide students with valuable insights into various professions, help them navigate career choices, and prepare them for the ever-evolving job market.
Over the past 12 months the Humber HR People team have offered over 28 hours of voluntary support including "Guess the Professional' event for Humberstone Academy, Grimsby (part of the David Ross Education Trust), which offered students a fun and interactive way to learn about different careers. We have also conducted mock interviews to equip students with essential interview skills and hosted workshops focusing on job and career choices at Hessle High School (part of the Consortium Trust).
Every event we support is enjoyable and unqiue, the children and young people consistently blow us away with their passion, enthusiasm and drive. We believe in investing in the future by empowering students with the knowledge and skills they need to make informed career decisions. By actively engaging with schools, we aim to inspire and guide the next generation towards success.
