The Challenge 
Rebecca Beaton's business had grown rapidly, and they needed a very specific role filled. It was important that they recruited the right person for the role, both in terms of skills and fitting in with their team. With this being quite a different role to ones they had previously recruited and not wanting to make a mistake they reached out to us for some support. 
What We Did 
We worked alongside Rebecca Beaton Accountancy Services as their talent partner to understand their requirement for the role, we created a job description and advert to enable us to short list suitable candidates. We carried out in-depth pre-screening telephone interviews prior to 1st stage interview to ensure we had the right people for the role. When we found the right candidate, regular contact was made to ensure her onboarding was successful

The Challenge 
Finding someone to cover a maternity leave within the customer care department but also helping us them, with their succession planning. 
What We Did 
We suggested they look at a graduate appointment and provided them with suitable Graduate Apprentice programmes for them to consider. 
The Result 
Peter Ward Homes opted for an Operations Management programme which would provide valuable skills that the candidate could utilise in a variety of departments within their business. Once the maternity cover assignment was finished, the new trainee moved to other departments to gain a wider understanding of the company and market sector. 
Working with Humber HR has been very different from our normal relationships with recruitment agents – in a really good way and we will definitely be working with them in the future. 
The Challenge 
Synergi Finance had been struggling to find the right level of staff to help their business grow. They were looking for someone who could run the finance engine of the business, someone who had finance experience, good attention for detail, a head for numbers, and could communicate well at all levels. 
What We Did 
Our team helped them fine-tune their job description, helping them to attract the right people to the role. We managed the distribution of the role on Indeed, spoke with all candidates, pre-screened them over the phone, and then organised the interviews.

We connected with the RSPCA Hull & East Riding at the start of their successful journey. We created the job description and made it come to life and matched some perfect candidates. Not only what they thought they needed but some wildcards, who were great candidates. Our team took responsibility for the whole process from the sifting, telephone interviews, and setting up both interview stages.

The Challenge 
As an employer, Airkool have a track record of employing apprentices. However, they realised that their in-house policies and processes were not fit-for-purpose. They asked us to overhaul their apprenticeship programme to give their managers and their apprentices a better experience. 
The Project 
Our team have a wealth of knowledge and experience, which helped us give Airkool the right advice and guidance. Having worked in the recruitment industry for over 20 years, we could immediately see the weaknesses in their existing policies and procedures. We recognised that they were making it difficult for managers to know what was required of them, which impacted the apprentices. 
The Result 
Sarah Kidd, Business Development Manager commented: 
The Humber HR team didn’t just tweak what we already had in place. Instead, they completely redesigned how we recruited and supported our apprentices. Previously we would rely on a third party to select the apprentices. Kate suggested that we take back control and recruit directly.  
This was a huge change but one that proved to be very successful. 
Kate reviewed and revised all the paperwork and guided us through every step of the process. 
We advertised six apprenticeships. We were delighted to receive 80 applications. From those, we shortlisted 12 to attend an assessment day. It is a testament to the quality of the recruitment process that was put in place that all 12 turned up. 
The calibre of the applicants was exceptional. We were bowled over by the young people we interviewed and were spoilt for choice. Kate considered everyone’s needs, and we were able to make suitable adjustments in the recruitment process for neurodiverse candidates. 
Not only did we recruit six exceptional apprentices, but we were also able to identify two further candidates who will join us next year. 
Thanks to the work of Kate and the team, we now have an apprenticeship programme that supports our managers and apprentices from initial recruitment through the onboarding programme and even quarterly reviews. 
With the guidance and support that we have received, everyone in the company knows their role and responsibilities.  
The apprentices are flourishing, and they know where to turn if they have questions.
