Kate van der Sluis FREC Managing Partner 

Kate has over 2o years’ experience in hiring, executive search and consultancy, Kate has worked with clients in the manufacturing, tech, engineering and service sectors, from start-ups to FTSE 250. Kate likes simple, effective strategies and enjoys working with business owners and entrepreneurs. Her specialisms are Hiring and Recruitment Strategy. 
 
Kate has a degree in English & Psychology from NTU, is a Fellow of Institute of Recruitment Practitioners (FIRP FREC), holds the REC Certificate in In-House Recruitment, and is trained in work behaviour & psychometrics with Thomas International. She is a founder member of the HEY LEP Talent Forum and an advisory board member for Marketing Humber.

Kellie Calvert MCIPD Director of HR Consultancy 

Kellie has over 22 years’ experience in HR, within the UK, Europe and the US, including automotive, transportation, tech retail and leisure sectors. 
 
Kellie is energetic, positive and passionate about harnessing the value of people contribution, delivered through HR Consultancy. Her specialisms are Employee Relations and People Strategy. 
 
Kellie has (MCIPD), with a Masters in HR Management and trained in work behaviours with Thomas International. Kellie chairs our online HR Huddles, providing a network of best practice for fellow HR Professionals.

Because I enjoy the complexity of people.I believe if you have the right people strategies in place, you can harness and benefit from that complexity and really utilise the greatest organisational asset every business has – its people. 
 
 
 

Rebecca Garland HR Partner 

Rebecca has a psychology degree and is CIPD qualified to associate level. Her background is in retail management and employment law working for large organisations as well as working alongside SMEs for a variety of sectors including construction, engineering, manufacturing, and the health and social care sector. 
 
She is passionate about delivering a great service, has a positive 'problem-solver' attitude with high standards, and pays close attention to detail putting clients' needs at the forefront of the work. 
 
 
Why do you work in HR? 
 
Because I am fascinated by human behaviour and 'why' people act in the way that they do, particularly in the work environment. I strongly believe that people are an employer's greatest asset and in turn, we are all 'people managers', regardless of the sector, we work in or the job role we have. 
 
 
 

Jo Underwood  Talent Partner 

Jo has over 5 years’ HR experience in and around the Humber region, helping businesses across sectors including construction, healthcare, health and wellbeing, education and FMCG. 
 
Specialising in talent acquisition, Jo believes that the key to commercial success is found time and time again in the strength of the workforce which starts with acquiring the right people for the right role. 
 
Jo has a degree in Sociology and is trained in work behaviour and psychometrics with Thomas International.

Sarah Carvill Office Manager 

Sarah has over 30 years’ experience in marketing, communications, design and senior office administration roles working in a variety of sectors including, new build, oil and gas, chemical and renewables. 
 
She has extensive experience in creating and raising brand awareness both internally and externally, developing and producing social media campaigns and designing and coordinating corporate exhibitions and events. 
 
Sarah is a dedicated and creative individual who is passionate about people’s wellbeing.

Joanne Boyd HR Coordinator 

Joanne has been supporting HR shared service functions within HR for 6 years. Having a strong admin background for over 20 years, Joanne has worked in a variety of sectors such as finance, medical manufacturing, and retail. 
 
She has experience in HR correspondence, problem-solving, and process improvements within systems or navigating procedural complications. Joanne will always try to see from the customers’ perspective and provides the best experience for them. 
 
Why do you work in HR? 
 
To provide guidance or support when required by connecting the right people or providing resolution to system issues. Helping people understand the processes and procedures in place which provide the structure and guidance needed and to leave the conversation knowing they understand and are happy with the outcome.
