Don't just take our word for it, see what our clients have to say . . .   Organisational Strategy Testimonials

The Challenge

Established in 2018, our client is a privately owned manufacturer managed by the 2 founders that have grown rapidly in a niche market, and by 2023 had over 50 full-time employees across 2 sites. The business already had some basic contracts and policies in place, but the directors identified the need for more strategic advice around people as they planned for the next stage of growth.

What We Did

We worked with the directors over 2 x 2-hour sessions to understand the business plan and provide advice and guidance on organisational strategy. This meant reviewing staff turnover rates, the organisation chart, and proactively planning for the right roles in the right places. We also reviewed the directors’ roles and worked to create a solid management structure so that they could concentrate on leading the business. We then discussed managing future changes in a controlled way and offered coaching to the directors on how to communicate this internally.

The Result

An immediate outcome was that the directors felt that they had defined areas of responsibility. The business had a solid plan for growth in the workforce and a clear organisation chart with line managers in place for each function.

We planned for existing staff to evolve into required job roles – removing the need to hire 3 new and expensive job roles and identified other areas of cost saving through outsourcing rather than hiring. For future recruitment, we clarified the job descriptions to ensure these were supporting the overall achievement of business goals.
“Working with Humber HR People has enabled us to view the business from a people perspective. The new ideas suggested and the work we did together challenged our assumptions and we have a robust people plan in place that will support our next stage of growth”.

We wanted to drop you an email to say how impressed we are with Laura and the work
she has done with our team.

It is so clear to see her passion for the role, she is professional, and helpful and has been so valuable in recent meetings on a variety of subjects.

We are so pleased to have her support and wanted to acknowledge how amazing she is (which, of course, I'm sure you already recognise and see in spades).

We have a unique set up and it's clear Laura has taken extra efforts to understand our business model, values and ethics.
