Would you like to recruit new apprentices? Would you like to develop existing employees and offer them an apprenticeship qualification?
East Riding of Yorkshire Council can assist you with the costs of the apprenticeship training though levy transfer. Similar schemes also exist for Hull, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire. Read on to find out how it works.

Larger employers, pay into an Apprenticeship Levy and transfer some of the levy fund to other SME employers to train and develop their own workforce. Levy transfer funding can cover the training fee costs for your apprentices - further details can be found at: Receive a levy transfer from another business to fund an apprenticeship - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk).

Which sectors can we support?

We can support apprenticeships in a range of sectors from agriculture to business and administration to construction to digital to health to sales to transport and logistics.

Before applying, you will need to know:

the name, level and duration of the apprenticeship programme you want support for
the cost of training and assessing your apprentice - you will agree the cost of the apprenticeship training and the end point assessment with a training provider. We can only transfer funds within the funding band limit for the apprenticeship
details of the training provider you want to work with and agreement from them that the apprentice is eligible and ready to start their apprenticeship.

How to apply:

You can view available levy transfer opportunities at Find a business to fund training for your apprentices (manage-apprenticeships.service.gov.uk) . You can apply for multiple apprentices within one application if they are undertaking the same apprenticeship qualification or use multiple applications for apprentices undertaking different qualifications. Once you have applied for a transfer, you will be able to view the status of your application via your digital account. (manage-apprenticeships.service.gov.uk)

Additional support:

Although the council can transfer levy funds, employers will have responsibility for managing the apprentice day to day. Support in establishing apprenticeship posts/promoting apprenticeships to existing staff is available from training providers, your HR team or the Apprenticeship Hub
