Stronger Together: Celebrating the power of partnership across the Humber

Humber HR People mark Humber Business Week with a partnership event alongside The Focus Group.

This week, Humber HR People was delighted to host “Stronger Together: A Blueprint for Regional Growth”, an invite-only session held in partnership with The Focus Group as part of Humber Business Week 2026.

Held at The Focus Group’s offices on Nelson Street in Hull, the afternoon brought together regional business leaders for an open and honest conversation about the role of partnership in building stronger, more resilient organisations. The session explored how the right collaborations can drive growth, reduce risk and deliver better results, not just in theory but through real, practical examples shared by the businesses in the room.

Rather than a traditional presentation, the format encouraged genuine discussion. Attendees shared their experiences of working in partnership, the challenges they’ve navigated and the opportunities that have opened up as a result. The energy and willingness to share made for a highly valuable couple of hours and reinforced how much the Humber business community has to gain from working together.

“Events like this are exactly what Humber Business Week is all about,” said Kate van der Sluis, Founder and Director at Humber HR People. “It’s easy to talk about the value of partnership, but it’s far more powerful to bring the right people together and hear the real stories behind it. The conversation was honest, generous and genuinely useful, and the connections made will endure long after the afternoon.”

Guests were treated to a light luncheon and drinks throughout, with catering expertly provided by The Graze Maid. The beautifully presented spread was a highlight of the day and kept the conversation flowing.

A huge thank you goes to The Focus Group for partnering with us and hosting such a warm and welcoming event, to The Graze Maid for the fantastic catering, and to every guest who took the time to join us and contribute to the discussion.

Here’s to stronger partnerships and a thriving Humber region. We’re already looking forward to the next event.
